The Governing Council of the Diputación Foral de Bizkaia (Bizkaia Provincial Council) has approved the extension of economic support to two historical territory entities, allocating a total of 2,421,802 euros. These subsidies will fund two programs managed by Fundación Argia and the association Bidaideak.
Fundación Argia will receive 1,913,625 euros to continue the residential service it provides at Lantzarte, in Berango. The agreement will be valid until December 31, 2027, with the possibility of a one-time extension for an equal period. This renewal ensures the continuity of a consolidated resource, reinforcing the commitment to specialized, continuous, and person-centered care for individuals with mental health issues.
Meanwhile, the subsidy to the Asociación Sociedad Vasca de Minusválidos Bidaideak will enable the financing of the Aterik-Ate adapted transport program in 2026, with a budget of 508,277 euros. This service is aimed at people with severe mobility difficulties and offers personalized journeys with adapted vehicles within the territory of Bizkaia, operating on a door-to-door, on-demand basis.
In 2024, the Aterik-Ate program provided 65,339 services and assisted 876 individuals. Bidaideak's trajectory, focused on the inclusion of people with disabilities and the removal of barriers, is strengthened by this collaboration, supporting autonomy and equal access to resources and opportunities.
