The Guardia Civil has conducted its annual weapons destruction procedure in Bizkaia, removing 1,726 units and exceeding 4.4 tons in weight.

The Guardia Civil recently conducted in Bizkaia the annual procedure for the destruction of weapons deposited in the various arms and explosives interventions of the force. This action is part of the periodic work carried out by the institution to ensure the control and definitive removal of weaponry that has been seized, voluntarily surrendered by its owners, or has been taken out of circulation for various administrative and judicial reasons.
According to information from Guardia Civil sources, during this campaign a total of 1,726 weapons were destroyed, with a combined weight exceeding 4.4 tons. The eliminated material includes different types of weapons that, after completing the corresponding legal and administrative procedures, could no longer remain in use or be returned to their owners.
To this end, the weapons were transported to a smelting company located in Bizkaia, where they underwent an industrial treatment process that guarantees their total incapacitation and definitive elimination.
