Fundación Children on the line, in collaboration with Fundación Rural Kutxa, has launched a pioneering training program in Bizkaia for over 14,300 students, designed to prepare them for the risks associated with artificial intelligence and constant screen exposure.

The increasing digital exposure of children and teenagers, encompassing social media and artificial intelligence, is a significant concern for families and educators. To address this, Fundación Children on the line, supported by Fundación Rural Kutxa, has initiated a training program for students aged 5 to 17 in Bizkaia. The initiative focuses on developing critical thinking and providing practical tools for healthy technology management.
Twenty-six schools in the Biscay region are already participating in this educational effort. To ensure equitable access, both foundations have established a strategic agreement to offer the program completely free of charge to over 4,000 children and adolescents in vulnerable social situations in Bizkaia. This will benefit sixteen additional educational centers with students from low-income families.
This program, part of a broader framework agreement with the University of Deusto, draws upon international research on childhood and digital environments. It provides specific resources for teachers and families, aiming to establish coordinated guidelines for managing domestic technology consumption. The plan for the upcoming academic year includes expanding the program to 90 educational centers, reaching more than 50,000 students, and extending its impact to Andalusia, where approximately 23,000 students are expected to participate.
