The Basque Government is set to publish a new guide to assist foreign individuals in their regularization process, as announced by Nerea Melgosa, Councillor for Welfare, Youth, and Demographic Challenge, during an interview on Bizkaia Irratia.

Councillor Nerea Melgosa explained that the regularization process is not straightforward, requiring various documents and permits. Therefore, Euskadi aims to offer support through this guide. Melgosa recalled that seven weeks prior, she spoke with Minister Elma Saiz in Madrid, and despite the State's rejection of the assistance offered by the Basque Government, Euskadi will proceed with the publication of this new tool.

"The issue of regularization is not easy; several documents and permits are required, and from Euskadi, through this guide, we are going to help them."

Furthermore, Euskadi will celebrate its first mobile-free family day this coming Saturday, April 18. According to Melgosa, this initiative is part of the V Interinstitutional Plan for the Support of Families, Children, and Adolescents, and will serve as a space for reflection on mobile phone use within the family environment. Families will have the option to store their phones in a secure bag and experience an agreed period without them. Additionally, two symbolic gifts will be distributed: a personalized reusable fabric bag and a mobile phone stand.
During the interview, other topics such as the V. Family Plan and the new Strategy for the Elderly 2026-2029 were also discussed.
