Swimmers heading to the beaches of Bizkaia this Friday will face a challenging situation, as access is prohibited on eleven of the territory's sandy areas. According to the Red Cross, a red flag is currently flying on the beaches of La Arena, Gorrondatxe, Barinatxe, Arriatera-Atxabiribil, Bakio, Aritzatxu, Toña, Laida, Laga, Ogella, and Karraspio.
Furthermore, swimming with caution is recommended on eight other Biscayan beaches: Las Arenas, Ereaga, Arrigunaga, Muriola, Gorliza, Armintza, Laidatxu, and Ea. This Friday, the green flag, indicating safe swimming conditions, is only visible at the beaches of Plentzia, San Antonio, Isuntza, and Arrigorri.
Low tide is expected at 2:27 PM, with the next high tide scheduled for 8:36 PM. The water temperature averages 18 degrees Celsius.
Regarding the weather, maximum temperatures will not exceed 20 degrees Celsius, with a mix of clouds and clear spells. Euskalmet forecasts that morning clouds will give way to clearer skies as the day progresses, though they will not disappear entirely. The wind will be from the west initially, shifting to north or northeast in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures will rise notably inland, reaching up to 20 degrees, while near the coast the increase will be more moderate, around 19 degrees. Minimum temperatures will range between 9 degrees inland and 14 degrees on the coast.
On Saturday, the arrival of a new weather front will bring rather cloudy skies with light precipitation that will subside by the end of the day. Temperatures will be similar to Friday's, with slightly higher minimums.
For Sunday, an increase in maximum temperatures is expected, which will remain below 25 degrees Celsius on the coast.
