The culinary scene in Amorebieta-Etxano is undergoing a significant refresh with the inaugural edition of the 'Jan Alai Burgers' competition. This event, running from April 17th until May 3rd, brings together 18 local bars and restaurants, each presenting their unique burger creation.

This competition takes over from the traditional pintxo contest, shifting its focus to the highly popular burger. Participating establishments, including LekuBerri Zornotza, Hotel Harrison, Kafe Aspaldiko, La Viña, Txiri Txiri, Goizeder, Batzoki Zornotza, Cafetería Venecia, Cocoloko Smash Burger, Aterpe Bar, Oasis Taberna, Ortzimuga Taberna, El Propi, La Amistad, Bar Zelaieta, Cafe Iruña, Taberna Amets, and Singing Munch, will showcase their creativity with innovative ingredient combinations and preparation styles.

Burger prices will range between 10 and 15 euros, though Txiri Txiri will offer an option for 3 euros, making it the most affordable on the route. The public will play a crucial role, voting for their favorite burgers and entering a draw for 500 euros. The main prizes include 1,000 euros for the best burger chosen by the professional jury and 500 euros for the public's favorite.

With this initiative, Amorebieta-Etxano aims to boost local hospitality and enhance the atmosphere in its streets, aligning with the growing trend of specialized gastronomic events across Bizkaia.
