According to the AEMET, an "extraordinarily warm" subtropical air mass is expected to bring summer-like temperatures to Bizkaia during spring. This heatwave will be particularly noticeable on Tuesday, with forecasts of up to 31 degrees in Bilbao, although Euskalmet predicts a maximum of 26 degrees.
This heat episode will affect the entire peninsula and is expected to last until at least Friday. On Wednesday, temperatures could drop by up to 10 degrees, making it a more spring-like day with highs of 22 degrees. However, temperatures are projected to rise again on Thursday, approaching 30 degrees, with no rain expected for that day.
“"The air masses located over Spain are extraordinarily warm. In the coming days, they could reach temperatures higher than the highest recorded between 1991 and 2020 for these dates."
Towards Friday, some showers are anticipated, and temperatures will slightly decrease by only a couple of degrees, with 27 degrees expected in the capital of Bizkaia. Minimum temperatures will also increase, ranging between 13 and 14 degrees, indicating that the warm weather will persist in the province until at least the weekend.
