On the other hand, the proposal to channel the right of first refusal and retraction towards homes in the historic center, with the aim of promoting their regeneration, was accepted. The initiative to develop a multi-year investment plan to address the rehabilitation of the historic center in a planned manner was also rejected, due to its high economic cost.
The objective is for Elorrio to have a housing policy that responds to all realities and allows citizens to develop their life project in the municipality.
The PNV criticized that the plan focuses mainly on social housing, leaving the promotion of affordable housing for middle-income earners in the background. In this regard, they warned that many people and families do not find affordable options in the municipality, which particularly forces young people to seek housing elsewhere. In response, the jeltzale party advocated for a strategy that combines the promotion of social housing with the promotion of free and accessible housing.
