The alliance combines the technological design capabilities of Global Datum - headquartered in the BEC Tower in Barakaldo and specializing in AI solutions and repeatable, scalable quantum models aimed at improving organizational productivity and competitiveness - with Cybertix's expertise in Cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and digital resilience over more than 25 years of implementing next-generation security services in SMEs.
Bilbao, July 17, 2026. Global Datum and Cybertix have sealed a strategic collaboration to jointly develop advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and quantum computing solutions that incorporate, from their initial design, the highest standards of cybersecurity, digital resilience, and regulatory compliance. The agreement, presented today, aims to make these capabilities accessible to the Basque business community, with a special focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The alliance responds to a constantly growing threat: over 1,000 automated cyberattacks are launched every second worldwide, with more than 80% targeting any type of user and entity. SMEs today bear a significant portion of these attacks. Cybertix contributes an 'All in One' service platform to the alliance that, according to the company, neutralizes over 93% of the risk by default without the client even noticing, a platform reinforced with 24x7 surveillance services to cover remaining situations.
Global Datum and Cybertix join forces to shield Basque SMEs against the more than 1,000 cyberattacks registered every second
The agreement combines the technological design capabilities of Global Datum - headquartered in the BEC Tower in Barakaldo and specializing in AI solutions and repeatable, scalable quantum models aimed at improving organizational productivity and competitiveness - with Cybertix's expertise in Cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and digital resilience over more than 25 years of implementing next-generation security services in SMEs.
The collaboration aims to offer companies solutions to complex problems and business optimization by relying on secure and certified technological platforms that enable them to continue growing. Joxe Etxebarria, CEO of Global Datum, explained that “the path of innovation involves traversing the path of trust,” and highlighted that the agreement adds “Cybertix's experience in cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and digital resilience to Global Datum's technological design capabilities.”
For his part, Xabier Mitxelena, executive chairman of the San Sebastián-based Cybertix, emphasized that the union stems “from our conviction within Gaia and Cybasque to develop internal collaboration models within the Basque technological ecosystem.” He explained that the combination of both companies (one born from the application of AI to cybersecurity automation and the other specializing in the transformation of businesses in critical infrastructures such as banking, energy, and transport) “seems to us the best way to build the future by collaborating.”
The alliance converges on a single vision: to put innovation, talent, and accumulated experience at the service of a secure, reliable digital transformation prepared for the regulatory and technological challenges of the present and the future
Both companies place the agreement in the context of the emergence of Artificial Intelligence and quantum computing, which will transform the business landscape in the coming years. Without integrated Cybersecurity from the outset, they point out, there are no guarantees of sustainability or resilience for organizations adopting these technologies. Added to this is the growing concern for technological and data sovereignty at a time when regulations such as the European AI Act and the NIS 2 directive will continue to set the level of security required for any technology operating in critical and strategic sectors.
The alliance is formalized as an agreement of intent: the commitment to build, from the design phase, solutions that comply with current European regulations on cybersecurity and resilience, and that provide future AI and quantum computing projects with the necessary credentials to position themselves as market leaders.
