The case is now being reviewed by the Guarantee Committee, and the suspension means the loss of voting rights within the party assembly.
Since the councilor's seat is personal and non-transferable, he retains his position in the Irun City Council. However, if the disciplinary process continues, he will be required to leave the Elkarrekin Podemos municipal group and serve as an independent councilor.
The conflict stems from the spokesperson's independent actions, allegedly failing to report to the municipal group or the regional leadership. In response, local party members appointed a new spokesperson last March to prepare for the upcoming municipal elections.
