The projects were carried out across 25 homeowners' associations and 46 private residences in Irun, managed by IRUNVI. Key improvements included upgrading thermal insulation and replacing exterior windows to enhance energy performance.
Ten of the completed projects achieved energy consumption reductions of over 60%, with the remaining cases showing improvements between 30% and 60%. These efforts stem from a 2022 agreement between the Basque Government's Department of Housing and Urban Agenda and the local council.
Across the Basque Country, the regional government has allocated over 253 million euros to urban regeneration. This initiative aims to modernize aging housing stock, lower carbon emissions, and provide more sustainable living conditions for residents.
