The Irun City Council has organized various activities for the European Day of Solidarity and Cooperation Between Generations, celebrated on Wednesday, aiming to foster collaboration and understanding across different age groups.

Among the scheduled events is a colloquium at the Plaiaundi Institute titled “'Digital Divide. Separation or cooperation? Increasingly connected or increasingly alone?’”. This discussion, starting on Wednesday at 11:30 AM, will explore how technology has transformed relationships and communication, seeking to reflect on its role and promote intergenerational knowledge exchange to build community.

"This reality, far from creating a generational gap, can be reinterpreted from a constructive perspective as an opportunity for intergenerational cooperation, the exchange of knowledge, and the creation of meaningful bonds."

Additionally, the Ventas Senior Citizens' Center will host a concert by students from the Irun Musika Eskola, also on Wednesday at 5:30 PM, with free admission until full capacity is reached. Furthermore, an intergenerational sewing workshop will take place at the same venue, where participants will create a backpack. Registration for both activities must be done through the City Council's website.

"The objective of these activities is to raise awareness about the importance of intergenerational cooperation for social development and cohesion and to promote solidarity between young and old."
