Irun City Council presented a positive balance of the San Marcial festivities this Monday, highlighting the success of the 150 activities held and the high citizen participation despite the heat.

The municipal government has described the festivities as record-breaking, both for the length of the program and the number of people mobilized. The organization had to manage additional difficulties due to the red alert for high temperatures, which required an extra effort of coordination between municipal departments.
The Culture department emphasized the city's ability to organize large events, highlighting the positive impact on local commerce and hospitality. Live concerts managed to gather more than 50,000 people during the celebrations.
Regarding security, the data reflect a clear decrease in crime. Arrests have dropped from 54 to 37, while police activity, measured in identifications and checks, has increased considerably. Crimes against persons and robberies with violence have decreased, although arrests for theft have risen due to the application of the new recidivism law.
Regarding the incidents recorded between companies during the parades, the City Council has acknowledged the need to seek more regulated solutions for the future, moving beyond the model based solely on the good will of the parties.
