The Irun City Council has approved the construction license for the Alarde premises, which will be used for pediatric care services from the Irun Centro outpatient clinic. This decision followed unanimous approval in last Friday's Plenary Session, after which the Governing Board granted the necessary permits to adapt these spaces.
“"Although healthcare is not within the competencies of the Irun City Council, all issues occurring in the city are my concern, especially one as high-priority as health."
With the granting of the license, the competencies of the Irun City Council conclude, and the adaptation period for these premises falls under Osakidetza's responsibility. This measure will allow pediatric services to be maintained in the city center while improvements or expansions are awaited at the Irun Centro outpatient clinic.
Furthermore, the transfer of land in Oinaurre has been approved for the construction of a new health center, which will serve approximately 25,000 people in the city, demonstrating a commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure.
