The Kutxa Fundazioa and the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council, in collaboration with the Swiss National Museum Collection Centre, have launched the fifth edition of a grant for professionals specializing in conservation.

This initiative, which includes funding of 30,000 euros and 12,000 Swiss francs, aims to promote training and research in the field of conservation and restoration. Special emphasis is placed on applying sustainable parameters for the preservation of cultural assets and fine arts. The application period remains open until May 18.
The program strengthens the internationalization of Gordailua, consolidating its relationships with other European conservation centers. The grant is structured in three phases: first, an initial three-month stay at Gordailua, the heritage collection center of the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council in Irun, to learn its methodologies and define the project to be developed.
The second phase involves an intermediate six-month stay at the Swiss National Museum Collection Centre in Affoltern am Albis, where the first part of the project will be carried out. Finally, the last ten-month stay will take place back at Gordailua, applying the knowledge acquired abroad to a specific project focused on sustainability in conservation and restoration.
The project topic will be agreed upon by the grantee, the Kutxa Fundazioa, Gordailua, and the Swiss National Museum Collection Centre. Projects developed under this grant must fall within strategic lines such as sustainability in the transport, storage, and exhibition of cultural assets; research into sustainable materials and techniques applied to conservation and restoration; or innovation in the sustainable management of art conservation.
