The party highlighted 68 decrees or invoice batches containing observations or objections from the auditor, totaling over 13.1 million euros. According to the opposition, despite these issues, the invoices were paid, in some cases by overriding the auditor's objections.
Meanwhile, the City Council stated that while these observations are accurate, they were accompanied by favorable fiscalization reports. The local government claims that payments with objections represent only 2% of total expenditure, while the remaining 98% has positive reports.
The PNV criticized what it calls political inconsistency, arguing they have applied the same scrutiny criteria the current mayor used while in opposition. The municipal government defended its record, highlighting the benefits generated by investing funds that were previously sitting idle in bank accounts.
