The Donostiarra women's rowing team will compete in the Euskotren League playoffs this weekend, tomorrow in Bermeo (17:35) and the day after in Portugalete (11:25). To stay in the league, they will face tough opponents: Hondarribia (ETE League champions), Zarautz (ETE League runners-up and La Concha participant), and Tiran (Galician League champions). Only the best among these four will earn a place in the Euskotren League for the next season.
Maintaining the level shown in the La Concha Regatta will be important for the Bantxa boat to overcome its rivals. Tomorrow, they will need to perform well in the time trial to beat Hondarribia and Zarautz. The performance level of Tiran will be seen over the weekend, as there is little reference information available about the Galician team.
Meanwhile, the men of Donostiarra will also be rowing this weekend in the final two stages of the Eusko Label League. Tomorrow they will race in Bermeo (18:51) and the day after in Portugalete (12:40). Following the recent news of coach Igor Makazaga's departure, they will aim to finish the league on a high note, especially after their second place in La Concha. Currently, they are fifth in the standings, and while climbing higher seems difficult, they still have chances to win a flag.
