The Irun City Council and the Irun Women's House Association (ACMI/IEEE) have organized a talk with writer and journalist Cristina Fallarás this Friday at the Amaia Cultural Center, as part of the 'Feminist Dialogues' program.

The event will take place this coming Friday, at 6:30 PM, at the Amaia Cultural Center in Irun. Admission is free, and the activity is part of the 'Feminist Dialogues' program, which aims to create a monthly meeting space for women to “learn and reflect together on different realities that affect them”.
Cristina Fallarás (Zaragoza, 1968) is a journalist, writer, and activist known for her fight against gender-based violence. In 2018, she launched the #Cuéntalo movement, which garnered nearly 3 million interactions on Twitter within its first 15 days. In 2023, she began collecting and publishing confidential testimonies through her Instagram account, leading to the book No publiques mi nombre.
The Irun City Council has detailed that Fallarás is a member of the Acción Comadres Association, which “promotes the creation of a testimonial platform for collective memory on violence: La Nuestra, currently under construction”. She has published 14 books and has been a regular contributor to media outlets since 1990.
During the talk, Fallarás will discuss “how the media has constructed a violent silence and how new forms of communication have allowed women to carry out a revolution armed only with their stories”. Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to share their reflections and ask questions to the guest.
