The Zeberio City Council will commence road and path repair works in several neighborhoods in the coming months. A total of 116,000 euros will be allocated to this project, supported by a grant from the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, including VAT.
The works include asphalting around homes in the neighborhoods of Gezala, Elorrea, Undurraga, and Solatxi. In Bekolanda, a section of the local road will be fully asphalted, and in Zubialde, the area around the plaza will be repaired.
This project will be carried out through the Rural Roads Grant from the Provincial Council of Bizkaia. The aim of this aid is to undertake actions to improve rural roads in the Municipalities of the Historical Territory of Bizkaia, for which the provincial institution allocated a budget of five million euros.
Of the 116,000 euros designated for the works in Zeberio, 65% will come from the provincial grant, with the remaining 35% covered by the City Council. Zeberio, being a municipality with a strong rural character in the Arratia-Nervión region, aligns with the plan's rurality criteria.
The City Council must complete these works by June 30, 2027, at the latest.
Additionally, Zeberio's youth have organized various events for the upcoming Sandoniak festivities, scheduled from September 2nd to 7th. The program features a macaroni dinner, couples' games, and Marianito pintxos, among other activities. A free night taxi service will also be available on the night of September 5th, covering the route from Ugao to Igoerre.
The festival program includes a show by Pirritx, Porrotx, and Marimotots for children, as well as elektrotxarangas (mobile music bands), gastronomic competitions, and a lunch for seniors. The local band Tukanon will also perform a concert during Bilbao's Aste Nagusia on August 27th.
The residents of Urizar will celebrate San Bartolomé Day on August 24th with a mass and a subsequent lunch.
