The club has admitted to having sold “by mistake” 225 extra participations for number 90.693, which won the third prize in the extraordinary Christmas draw held last December. The entity states it does not have sufficient funds to pay the approximately 2.1 million euros claimed by those affected.
According to the club's management, the irregularity was detected this Tuesday, when the prize money had already been exhausted and nearly a hundred people were still waiting to collect. Each winning participation was supposed to receive 10,000 euros.
The entity detailed that a total of 1,425 participations were commercialized, when only 1,200 should have been issued. The tickets had a price of five euros, of which four were for the game and one was considered a donation to the club.
Given this situation, those affected will hold an assembly this Thursday with the aim of coordinating possible actions and considering filing a joint lawsuit to claim the owed amounts.
