A resident of the abandoned URSSA plant in Gasteiz has reported their situation, highlighting precarious living conditions and police harassment, stating police told them to go to Errekaleor.

Testimony obtained by Hala Bedi and Arabako Alea media outlets has revealed the dire situation of individuals residing in the abandoned URSSA plant in Gasteiz. One resident explained that they have been living for months without electricity, water, or communication, and that the police frequently appear at the plant, especially at night. "Life is very difficult, very difficult," they stated, "I am a person, I have the life of a rat."
The witness reported that on May 10th, the Ertzaintza (Basque police) forcefully entered the plant, with several officers in plain clothes and many others in uniform. "They came with batons and shields, in the early hours of the morning," and shouted "Everyone out!", causing great fear among those present.
That night, the police removed all individuals from the plant and lined them up, classifying them individually: orange for those with criminal records and green for those without. The following day, May 11th, the Ertzaintza returned to URSSA and told a group of residents that their time at the plant was limited and recommended they go to Errekaleor. Consequently, many people moved to Errekaleor, leading to the subsequent serious incidents.
Errekaleor Bizirik and 47 other collectives in Gasteiz have called for a mass demonstration on Monday afternoon under the slogan "Strengthen people's power against fascism and police brutality!". "We are people, not animals, and we have the right to live," declared the witness in the video.
