Stone light and streets that seem frozen in time dominate this photography contest focused on the medieval heritage of eight towns from Spain and Portugal. The finalist images have been published on the official account @villasmedievales and the winner will be decided by public vote until July 5th at 11:59 PM.
A professional jury has selected these images, which highlight castles, walls, squares, and urban landscapes. Now, the audience will decide which photograph receives the most "Likes" and thus wins this edition.
Laguardia, representing Álava, is among the finalists. This competition promotes historical, monumental, and landscape heritage, encouraging digital participation and citizen involvement.
The jury members, representatives from the eight participating towns, have evaluated the technical quality of the images, their ability to reflect the essence of each location, and the participants' originality. This contest, part of the Network of Medieval Cities and Towns initiative, has become a tool for promoting tourism and culture.
The Network of Medieval Cities and Towns is a pioneering tourism initiative that brings together eight municipalities from Spain and Portugal with significant historical heritage. These include Almazán (Soria), Estella–Lizarra (Navarra), Hondarribia (Gipuzkoa), Valencia de Alcántara (Cáceres), Laguardia (Álava), Marvão (Portugal), Santo Domingo de la Calzada (La Rioja), and Sigüenza (Guadalajara).
