Korterraza, the open-air short film festival for Vitoria-Gasteiz and Álava, is launching this summer with 46 free screenings spread across 37 towns, running from June 12th to September 4th.

The festival's first event was on June 12th with Korterraza M3moria, and the closing will be on September 4th in Elburgo. In Vitoria-Gasteiz, the program continues on June 24th at the Izaskun Arrue Kulturgunea with Korterraza Euskera. This day will feature a concert by Pelax at 7:00 PM and a session of Basque-language short films starting at 8:00 PM.
From June 25th to 27th, the festival moves outdoors to the Artium Museoa for general screenings starting at 10:00 PM. Additionally, Korterraza Txiki will take place on Friday, June 26th, at 7:00 PM in the Artium Auditorium, followed by children's theater in Basque on Saturday, June 27th, at 12:00 PM with Kokito eta India. In case of rain or high temperatures, activities will be moved indoors to the Sala Plaza.
This year's edition will showcase 50 short films selected from nearly 1,400 submissions. Among them, there will be works from Álava by Juanma Bajo Ulloa, Aitor De Kintana, Iñaki Rikarte, Mikel Bustamante, María Algora, and Eloi Beato, as well as 'Dicen que tu padre', featuring Iñigo Salinero and Ayshane García.
On Saturday, June 27th, Korterraza will honor Toni Acosta with the EITB Award for support of short films. The actress will present 'In Memoriam', a short film directed by Teresa Bellón and César F. Calvillo. On the same morning, both filmmakers will participate in a session on comedy at the Artium Auditorium.
The festival will also premiere the web series '25 días dando tortazos a diestro y siniestro', a short production for social media born from the erRESPETAtuz campaign. It stars Goize Blanco and Álava-based actors such as Iñigo Salinero, Aitor De Kintana, Gorka Aguinagalde, and Adrián Santos.
In Álava, Korterraza Araba will host 38 traveling sessions across 36 localities, featuring four distinct formats: Súper Selección, Komedia, Txiki, and Mix. The program will visit towns including Laudio, Legutio, Artziniega, Villabuena de Álava, Aramaio, Araia, Labastida, Oion, and Elburgo.
The musical segment will take place between June 25th and 27th with free concerts by artists such as A Contra Blues, Moonshine Wagon, Susan Santos, Julián Maeso, Eder Portolés, The Soulbreaker Company, and Sex Museum. On July 12th, there will be a special session of cinema and live music in collaboration with the Jazz Festival.
Korterraza maintains its free, open, and outdoor nature this year. In 2025, it attracted approximately 12,000 attendees across 48 sessions. The festival will feature a jury composed of Jesús Martínez Nota, Zara García-Delgado, and Alejandro Cano, and will award around 8,000 euros in prizes. It will also continue as an Erronka Garbia event and with the erRESPETAtuz campaign against sexist, homophobic, transphobic, or oppressive behaviors.
