The Foral Council of Álava has approved the resolution for the Forestry Aid Plan for 2026 and 2027, allocating 1,705,298 euros to bolster the conservation and management of Álava's forests.

The approved resolution aims to reinforce the conservation of Álava's forests and fund interventions addressing damages, deterioration, and management challenges. The majority of these funds will be directed towards public forests, which hold significant importance within the territory.
In total, 118 entities will receive support for reforestation efforts, damage prevention and repair, as well as boundary demarcation. The allocations for public forests account for 1,380,298 euros of the total approved amount, with the remaining 325,000 euros designated for private landowners.
This initiative seeks to promote more sustainable forest management and contribute to biodiversity, climate change adaptation, and the protection of Álava's rural landscape. The Foral Council highlights that these aids are intended not only to conserve the forest mass but also to prevent future issues and enhance the region's response capabilities.
