Vitoria-Gasteiz will host the XVI edition of the Araba Rugby Cup, a tournament bringing together 1,100 children aged 8 to 14 at the Lakua 03 facilities from May 15 to 17.

This school rugby event will feature 65 mixed teams from 15 clubs across Spain, France, and Portugal. Organized by Gaztedi Rugby Taldea, the tournament will compete in the under-8, under-10, under-12, and under-14 categories.

"The Araba Rugby Cup is not competitive. The trophy is awarded to the team that best represents rugby values such as camaraderie, honesty, teamwork, solidarity, and discipline."

the organizers
The tournament has become a benchmark event for rugby academies in previous editions. Activities will commence on Friday, May 15, with the reception of the first teams starting at 18:00.
Matches will kick off on Saturday at 10:00 at the Lakua 03 municipal facilities and will continue throughout the weekend, with parallel activities alongside the tournament. The organization will set up a Rugby Fan Zone around Lakua 03 to bring this sport closer to the public. There will be musical performances, raffles, tortilla contests, big-headed figures, Basque rural sports exhibitions, a craft fair, and food-trucks.
The Araba Rugby Cup is also expected to attract around 1,500 family members and companions. The organization will rely on 150 volunteers to manage the tournament's development.
