80-year-old dies in Álava from heatstroke

An 80-year-old individual passed away this Wednesday in Álava from heatstroke, identified as a fragile patient due to age and pre-existing cardiovascular conditions.

By 7 PM this Wednesday, Osakidetza's Emergency Services had attended to 31 people due to the high temperatures recorded across Euskadi. The individuals treated ranged in age from 12 to 96 years old.
A total of 16 people affected by the heat were transported by ambulance to a hospital or health center for monitoring, with none in serious condition. The remaining 15 individuals received on-site treatment and were discharged. Gipuzkoa recorded eleven cases, Bizkaia eighteen, and Álava two cases, one of which was fatal.
