Amurrio City Council will hold the first 'Amurrio Kirolak' gala on November 20th, recognizing athletes, clubs, and entities contributing to sports development and value transmission in the municipality.

Amurrio City Council will host the inaugural Amurrio Kirolak gala on November 20th, at 7:00 PM, at the Amurrio Antzokia. This initiative aims to publicly acknowledge the trajectory, effort, and dedication of individuals, entities, and associations contributing to the growth and promotion of sports within the municipality.
The gala seeks to highlight not only sporting successes but also the work behind them: the training of young athletes, volunteer commitment, competition organization, promotion of women's sports, solidarity, and the transmission of values such as camaraderie, perseverance, and teamwork.
Imanol Llano, the Councilor for Sports, emphasized the importance of launching an initiative to recognize the contributions of all those who make sports possible in Amurrio. “The sport in our municipality is much more than results and medals. It is effort, education, coexistence, inclusion, and commitment. Behind every athlete and every competition, there are many people who dedicate their time and passion to keep sports growing. With this gala, we want to publicly thank them for their work and give them the recognition they deserve,” he stated.
Llano also underscored the intention for Amurrio Kirolak to become a meeting point for the local sports community. “We want this first gala to be a celebration of everything sports represents in Amurrio, from those who have spent decades training new generations to those just starting to make their way. All of them contribute to building a more active, participatory municipality committed to sports values,” he added.
Ten categories have been established to recognize sports achievements in Amurrio for this inaugural edition, aiming to reflect the diversity of local sports and the different ways individuals contribute to its development.
