The event will feature a comprehensive program for both hospitality professionals and the general public, with activities for all ages. The presentation included remarks from María Nanclares, Cristina González, Clara Navas, and Rubén González.
Councilwoman for Economic Promotion, María Nanclares, highlighted that pintxos "are a differentiating element of our gastronomy, valuing our local products and serving as a tourist attraction." The congress anticipates around 1,000 attendees.
Provincial Deputy for Employment, Cristina González, emphasized that the initiative "reaffirms its capacity to innovate and build bridges between territories, chefs, and audiences, promoting Álava's enogastronomic offerings."
According to Tourism Director Clara Navas, the Miniature Pintxos Congress "highlights one of Euskadi's great differentiators: our gastronomic culture, and particularly the pintxo as an expression of creativity, product, and tradition."
The professional program's centerpiece will be the National Pintxos Championship, where teams of three chefs will compete with their culinary creations. The final is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, in the morning, at the Vitoria-Gasteiz Market.
Additionally, the IV Euskadi Gilda Innova Championship and the II National Sweet Pintxo Championship will take place. Participating chefs will also have the opportunity to visit the Añana Salt Valley.
The popular program includes 'Miniature Pintxo Fest', opening on Sunday the 27th on the Market's rooftop, and 'Miniature Kids', offering children's workshops in the afternoon. Experiential dinners will also be available.
The closing dinner on Wednesday, September 30, will honor chefs such as Mikel Muñoz, Alberto, Juanma Lavín, and Luis Sosoaga.
The congress aims to promote pintxo culture and innovation, foster values of progress and equality, and position gastronomy as a cultural heritage and tourist attraction, while also encouraging equal opportunities in the hospitality sector.
