Podemos Vitoria has a new spokesperson, elected in a recent membership assembly. Lourdes García de Garayo will assume the role, taking over from Guillermo Presa. This position is equivalent to that of a Municipal General Secretary.

According to the party, García de Garayo has a long history of social commitment and activism linked to volunteering. By taking on this spokesperson role, she will increase her involvement in the organization, leading the political and organizational work of Podemos Vitoria-Gasteiz.

In the short to medium term, she will face a significant challenge: defining the roadmap with which the party will approach the 2027 municipal elections. García de Garayo advocates for continuing to promote policies that contribute to improving the quality of life for Vitoria's citizens.

She also supports defending and consolidating acquired rights, without forgetting the “ecofeminist prism” characteristic of Podemos Euskadi. In her new role, she stated that she will continue to promote collaboration with social groups and the municipal fabric, “strengthening institutional and social cooperation in favor of the general interest and the improvement of the common good”.

Thus, García de Garayo takes over from Guillermo Presa. Presa, born in Donostia in 1990, is a saxophonist and a member of the Vitoria-Gasteiz Municipal Music Band. In 2020, he was chosen to lead Podemos in the Alavese capital. His appointment came a year and a half after the resignation of Fernando López Castillo as head of Podemos Vitoria.
