The Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council has decided to extend the summer season at the Mendizorrotza pools until September 27, citing favorable weather forecasts.

The Mendizorrotza pools will remain open until September 27, extending the summer season. Specifically, the outdoor Olympic pool and the children's pool will stay operational, as announced by Mayor Maider Etxebarria. However, the tropical pool will close this Sunday.
Given the optimal weather forecasts, the Sports Service has decided to extend the opening period by two more weeks. Until September 27, users can access the outdoor Olympic pool and the splash pool for children between 12:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
Meanwhile, the municipal complex in Gamarra has concluded its summer season, recording a 34.17% increase in user numbers compared to last year. Throughout these months, a total of 189,279 people have visited the Gamarra facilities.
Etxebarria emphasized that this increase highlights the importance of municipal pools as an essential public service for citizens. During periods of high temperatures, both Gamarra and Mendizorrotza have served as safe and pleasant spaces for leisure, sports, and fostering intergenerational coexistence.
