Three significant projects are underway in Vitoria-Gasteiz, set to directly impact urban mobility, accessibility, and daily use spaces. These works include the construction of a new bike lane on Avenida Gasteiz, an extension for the urban renewal in Zaramaga, and the energy rehabilitation of the Aldabe civic center.
Construction on Avenida Gasteiz has already begun and is expected to last seven months. This project, with an investment of 295,419 euros, covers the section between Beato Tomás de Zumárraga and the Palace of Justice. The initial phase focuses on pedestrian refuges in the median, with partial lane closures anticipated, but at least one lane will remain open per direction. No immediate impact on TUVISA or Alavabus services is expected, though some bus stops will be temporarily relocated later.
Meanwhile, in Zaramaga, the Local Government Board has approved an extension for the urban renewal contract on Cuadrilla de Vitoria-Gasteiz street, indicating the intervention is ongoing and requires more time to complete. Additionally, a direct patrimonial concession has been processed for accessibility works in a property on Cuadrilla de Salvatierra-Agurain number 8.
The third major project is in Aldabe, where the Local Government Board has approved the contracting process for the energy rehabilitation of the civic center's social building. This intervention has a budget of 6,143,271.66 euros, including VAT, and is designed under the EnerPhit Passivhaus standard. It also includes works to adapt the building to current fire protection and accessibility regulations.
