The Center for Environmental Studies of Vitoria-Gasteiz (CEA) has officially launched ALEKO Market, a direct sales platform aimed at transforming the local consumption model.
This platform allows citizens to easily purchase fresh, high-nutritional quality produce from the Vitoria-Gasteiz area, with home delivery within a week.
Borja Rodríguez, Vitoria-Gasteiz's Councilor for the Environment, highlighted that ALEKO Market is "the link between this local production and our homes." The platform ensures fair prices for producers, promotes generational renewal in rural areas, and reduces the carbon footprint.
Four local companies are involved: Soilik cooperative and Sustraiak Habitat Design specialize in agroecology; Eraman cooperative manages logistics with bicycle delivery; and Amaterra consultancy addresses the challenge of rural generational renewal.
On Friday, October 16th, at 7:00 PM, a gastronomic workshop will be held at La Azotea del Mercado de Abastos using ALEKO Market products, in collaboration with Jai Alai. Seasonal dishes will be prepared, and the project's philosophy will be explained.
ALEKO Market is part of the ALEKO project, through which the CEA offers a comprehensive agrarian entrepreneurship program, including theoretical-practical training, mentorship, and access to agricultural land.
