The day began in Zumaia under cloudy skies, but this did not prevent the continuation of events on the second day of the San Pedro festivities. Activity in the town picked up around midday, particularly in the Eusebio Gurrutxaga square, which hosted a rural sports exhibition accompanied by the Beti Jai band. Athletes from various disciplines participated, including wood chopping (aizkora), stone lifting (harri jasotze), and other strength-based challenges.
The exhibition featured athletes from different generations, such as Hodei Ezpeleta, Estefania Etxebeste, Goizeder Beltza, Carlos Ruiz de Aretxabaleta, and Enara and Aratz Beltza, who were enthusiastically watched by the public from behind barriers.
The afternoon will also feature numerous events. Sunday's program includes a parade of giants and big-heads in front of the Town Hall, accompanied by the pipers from Tolosako dultzaineroak. Afterwards, a healthy snack will be offered for children and young people in the Eusebio Gurrutxaga square. Throughout the afternoon, there will also be parades by the Beti Jai band and the departure of the San Pedro drum parade, which will tour various neighborhoods.
In the evening, the Amaia square will host DJ sets featuring artists Eddy, Saizar, and MNNS, while in the Eusebio Gurrutxaga square, the group Xabi Fest will offer a dance with music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. During the day, the town's flag will be raised at the Town Hall.
Tomorrow, Monday, the day of San Pedro will be celebrated. In the morning, the pipers from Tolosako dultzaineroak will kick off the day, followed by a procession and the main mass with the San Pedro choir. Around midday, there will be a parade with the Incansables band and a concert by the ZUMB Musika Banda in the Eusebio Gurrutxaga square.
In the afternoon, a children's party is organized at the Fishermen's Guild (Kofradia), and another parade will take place with the Incansables band. In the evening, the group Puro Relajo will perform a concert in the Eusebio Gurrutxaga square, and the festivities will conclude with fireworks by the Vulcano pyrotechnics company.
