Zumaia will celebrate its San Pedro festivities from June 27th to 29th, building on the festive atmosphere established after the San Juan bonfires. The three-day program will offer music, gastronomy, and a variety of events for locals and visitors alike.
A key highlight of this year's program will be music. On Friday, the band Belako will perform a concert in Moila. At midday, sports associations, volunteers from Nagusilan, and members of the Zumaia Industrial Heritage Information Center (ZIIZ) will launch the firecracker that officially kicks off the festivities. The festive mood will begin in the morning with a judo exhibition in Ondartxo square. In the afternoon, there will be street parades by the Lasko txaranga, a potato omelet competition, the finals of the cesta punta championship, and children's games. In the evening, Min, Indigø, and Belako will perform concerts in Moila.
On Sunday, bagpipers and txarangas will be responsible for livening up the town's streets. The day's musical offerings will be rounded out by DJs in Amaia square. Additionally, there will be traditional Basque sports, a parade of giants and big-heads, and the San Pedro drum parade.
On San Pedro's Day, Monday, a procession and the main mass will take place in the morning. At midday, the ZUMB Music Band will give a concert, and in the afternoon, there will be a street parade by the Incansables txaranga and a children's party.
