Azkoitia will host a new guided tour this weekend as part of the 'Urola, corners of history and landscape' program. This initiative invites participants to discover some of the valley's most historically and culturally significant sites.
Titled 'San Martín, the origins of Azkoitia', the activity will cover San Martín hill and its neighborhood, considered one of the oldest areas of the town. Attendees will learn about the historical vestiges preserved in the environment and elements reflecting the industrial past and historical development of its inhabitants.
The tour will commence at 11:00 AM in front of the Parroquia de Santa María la Real on both Saturday, the 23rd, and Sunday, the 24th. Saturday's tour will be in Basque, and Sunday's in Spanish. It is expected to last approximately one and a half hours. This urban circuit is designed to present local history and landscape in an engaging and informative manner.
