The men's first team from Orio has convincingly won the opening round of the Eusko Label League, a time trial held at the Buitrago del Lozoya reservoir.

The San Nikolas boat finished nearly eight seconds ahead of Zierbena and Donostiarra, who placed second and third respectively, marking an excellent start to the season with a flag victory. The race featured an unusual format with six long stretches and five turns in a paired time trial.
The team coached by Iker Zabala demonstrated clear superiority from the outset: they were one second ahead at the first turn, two seconds at the second, four at the third, and eight seconds at the finish line.
Another regional team, Getaria, also competed today. They required 26 seconds more than Orio to complete the course but performed well, with their boat Esperantza ranking fifth fastest among the twelve participating crews.
The first round of the women's Euskotren League also took place at the same venue, but over a shorter distance: four long stretches and three turns. Arraun Lagunak from Donostia emerged as the fastest, finishing twelve seconds ahead of Orio.
Orio initially held the lead, but in the second stretch, the Donostia crew not only closed the gap but also gained an additional three seconds. By the end of the third stretch, the difference between them was nine seconds, widening to twelve at the finish.
Zumaia is another team from Urola Kosta joining the Euskotren League. Eight boats compete in the women's top division, and today Zumaia secured seventh place.
Meanwhile, the Orio B team did not fare as well in the KAE 1 League event. In the waters of Plentzia, they were the slowest of the twelve participating boats and currently sit second to last in the overall league standings.
