This Saturday, the Zarautz Triathlon will be held, gathering around 800 athletes, which will impact traffic in the town and surrounding areas, especially on the route from Zumaia to Zarautz.

The Zarautz Triathlon, one of the region's most significant sporting events, will take place this Saturday. The event is expected to attract around 800 athletes and will affect traffic in Zarautz itself, as well as in neighboring towns, including Zumaia.
The race will run from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM, during which several roads will be closed to vehicles. Specifically, as the cycling segment will pass along the coastal road, the route from Zumaia to Zarautz will be closed to cars. Consequently, those wishing to travel from Zumaia to Zarautz will need to use the AP-8 motorway. Motorway users will not be charged a toll on this day.
Access to Zumaia will still be possible via the coastal road, as the lane in that direction will remain open. Additionally, there will be changes for accessing the Zumaia station; the only available route will be the detour next to the Aitzuri pelota court.
