The Elgeta Youth Assembly will host a txosna this year in the field next to the youth center. "The youth center will not be open. The txosna was requested, and we decided to keep it going," explained Leire Belamendia, a member of the Youth Assembly.
The txosna will open on Thursday at 8:00 PM, following the costume parade. "We will have a kickoff, say a few words, and the first task will be to distribute the costume prizes," Belamendia stated. This year, there will be two prizes: for the best costume and the worst.
Regarding the musical offerings, the bands Manitu (Zestoa) and Harrikada (Antzuola) will perform on Thursday, and the romeria group Begibide (Ermua) will perform on Friday.
Friday's schedule is also packed. They have organized a youth meal in the txosna area, with tickets available for 10 euros at Janela. After the meal, they will hold a trivial pursuit competition for teams.
The Youth Assembly emphasizes the importance of the drag show scheduled for 8:00 PM. "Like last year, it will be a traveling show, in a parade format. We will start at the txosna area and there will be opportunities to see it in various locations," explained Asier Errarte from Elgeta.
The festivities will continue until the early hours of the morning. On Saturday, at 7:00 AM, night owls have a date in the youth center field for the annual photo. "If the weather is good, many people gather," said Belamendia. The bingo session after Saturday's popular meal and the nighttime zumba session will also be organized by the Youth Assembly.
During these days, they will organize shifts for the txosna; the sign-up list is at the Haizea bar, and all volunteers are welcome. "We are very excited about the festivities. This year, moreover, younger people have joined the Youth Assembly, and we will work with special motivation," said Belamendia. The protocol against aggression will also be in effect at the txosna area.
