The Azpeitia City Council has provisionally opened the new water jet area in Izarraizko Atea park to provide an additional recreational space amidst high temperatures.

The City Council of Azpeitia has decided to provisionally open the new water jet area in Izarraizko Atea parkea this afternoon. This decision responds to the high temperatures currently being recorded and aims to offer citizens more recreational spaces to cope with the heat.
The water jets at Izarraizko Atea parkea were initially opened on June 12. At that time, the council also announced plans to expand the area by constructing a new section spanning 16 meters in diameter. This expansion includes "water jets, arches, and other dynamic elements," bringing the total number of aquatic games to nearly a dozen.
Although some play elements are still pending installation, the space has been deemed usable "safely" by the council. Consequently, residents can now enjoy the new recreational area starting this weekend.
The municipal forecast indicates that the installation work will be completed within two weeks. Currently, Izarraizko Atea parkea is experiencing high visitor numbers, including children with their families or friends, as well as participants from summer camps and other groups.
The water jets operate daily from 09:00 to 21:00 hours, activated by a push-button system.
