The Getaria City Council has expressed great satisfaction with the assessment of this year's Salbatore festivals. According to the council, residents enjoyed a program full of events between August 5th and 9th, and overall, the evaluation has been very positive.
Among the most popular events, they highlighted the Elcano Landing, which drew thousands of people to the town and offered the opportunity to enjoy a moving reenactment with over a hundred residents participating. They also noted the positive reception of this year's innovations, such as those introduced during the Landing.
The annual Marmitako Championship also gathered hundreds of residents in an excellent atmosphere. Furthermore, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Getaria Rowing Club, the first popular Batel Championship was held, attracting over 100 participants and generating significant interest.
In terms of gastronomy, various activities were held, including tortilla and paella competitions, grilled bonito and veal, and a town meal, creating a fantastic atmosphere among locals and visitors.
Among the musical performances, they emphasized Korrontzi's 'Mundua Dantzan' show and the excellent work of the children, youth, and adult dancers from Gure Txeru. The Municipal Band, txistularis, and charangas also contributed to a special atmosphere in the town's streets and fronton.
The City Council highlighted the respectful atmosphere experienced during the festivals, based on freedom and equality. Finally, they acknowledged the essential work of municipal employees and volunteers, without whose effort, professionalism, and commitment, such a participatory festival program would be impossible to carry out.
They added that they will attempt to reschedule two children's activities that were canceled due to weather or technical issues, during August or September.
