This year's San Juan festivities are proving to be hot in Urrestilla, with high temperatures forecast for the upcoming days. Yesterday, the Urrestilla Festival Committee had organized a mountain hike to Loretu and a performance by trikitilaris, but they had to cancel the morning schedule due to the heatwave. In the afternoon, they held water games and a children's corner in the fronton, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the attending children.
Today, San Juan's Eve, the festivities will officially begin in Urrestilla with the reading of the proclamation and the launch of a firecracker. The San Juan bonfire will be lit, but it will be smaller than usual to prevent heatstroke among attendees.
