Although the celebrations for the Azpeitia Youth Center's 21st anniversary began on Thursday, today marked the main day. In the morning, organized activities kicked off with a raft race. Ten teams or groups participated this year, preparing their rafts under the theme 'If it wasn't for the Youth Center, what would it be?'. Before the race, the young participants enjoyed a 'hamaiketako' (mid-morning snack) in the square. At 12:00 PM, the rafts were launched into the river, and despite the low water levels, a large crowd gathered on the banks of the Urola River to watch the descent.
The Youth Center's anniversary events started on Thursday with pala and ludus championships held at the Frontoi Txiki. Afterwards, participants gathered at the Youth Center for dinner. Yesterday, the futsal tournament finals were played in the town square. Today, following the raft race, there will be a meal at the Youth Center, and activities will continue until the evening.
Today's program includes a meal at the Youth Center at 2:30 PM, followed by an awards ceremony. In the afternoon, starting at 5:30 PM, there will be sangria, a DJ performance, and games in the square. In the evening, at 8:00 PM, the Youth Center will open its doors, and at 8:30 PM, concerts by the bands Lepue Zapaldu and Jipoituak will conclude the day.
