The Azkoitia Town Hall has opened application periods for various grant lines aimed at cultural and sports associations, as well as individuals and entities involved with the Basque language.

The Azkoitia Town Hall has opened the application periods for various grant lines aimed at cultural and sports associations, as well as individuals, companies, and entities linked to the Basque language sector.
Firstly, cultural and sports associations can now apply for aid to finance projects and regular activities for the 2025-2026 season. The deadline for submitting applications is June 13. The council has allocated a budget of 132,000 euros for the different aid lines managed by the Department of Culture and Sports.
In addition to ordinary activities, the Town Hall will subsidize cultural and sports activities, events, or championships held in Azkoitia or primarily aimed at its citizens. Athletes or sports associations participating in official championships outside the Basque Country may also be eligible for aid. In these cases, the application period will remain open until October 31.
Furthermore, non-profit associations and collectives can apply for grants to organize festivals, with the same deadline of October 31.
On the other hand, the Basque Language department has also launched its grant calls for this year. Among the subsidy lines are those aimed at promoting Basque language plans in Azkoitia companies, language learning, attending courses at UEU and EHU, as well as promoting the presence of Basque in shops and businesses.
For company Basque language plans, the deadline to apply for aid will end on July 15. The maximum amount each company will receive is 2,000 euros and will be complementary to grants awarded by the Basque Government for the same purpose.
Aid for studying Basque will cover up to 100% of the enrollment fee. Additionally, the Town Hall will finance 75% of the cost of UEU and EHU courses for students, the unemployed, retirees, and pensioners, while workers can receive 25%. The council will allocate 45,000 euros to these two subsidy lines, and applications must be submitted before September 30.
Grants will also be available for the installation of Basque signage and corporate image, website translation, implementation of fully Basque software programs, or advertising in the Basque language. The Town Hall has reserved 7,500 euros for this line, and the application period will conclude on October 31.
All information regarding the grants is available on the Azkoitia Town Hall website, in the 'Subvenciones' (Grants) section. To resolve any doubts, interested parties can call 943 85 71 70 for cultural and sports aid, or 943 54 20 02 for grants from the Basque Language department.
