This Sunday, May 9, Zarautz will host the fifth edition of the Volunteering Fair, taking place at the Malecón from 11:00 to 14:00. The initiative has been organized by the City Council in collaboration with Gizalde, the Gipuzkoa Volunteering Network, aiming to promote the work of volunteers and connect it with the community.
The fair will gather 17 associations linked to social action, which will present their work and offer information to individuals interested in volunteering. Additionally, 12 other entities involved in international cooperation will participate in the Zarauzko Solidaritate Koordinadora area.
“"Volunteering is one of the basic pillars of the care ecosystem. Today, we cannot understand a care model without a community vision. Volunteering contributes to building a community based on shared care."
This year's edition will be particularly significant, as the United Nations has declared 2026 as the International Year of Volunteering and Sustainable Development. In this context, the event aims to highlight the work of social associations, recognize the importance of volunteering, and bring this reality closer to the citizens of Zarautz.
Among the participating associations at this Sunday's Volunteering Fair in Zarautz will be ASEBIER, Itxaropenaren Telefoa, Atzegi, AGI, DYA, Bizi Bide, Nagusilan, Bidez Bide, Gizalde-Sareginez, Afagi, Gurutze Gorria, ASPACE, Bihotzez, ACABE, ADEMGI, Garagune, and Agadelprise.
