AzpeitiaKoop Established to Strengthen Local Cooperative Network

Aiming to boost the cooperative spirit in Azpeitia, various entities have joined forces to create AzpeitiaKoop, fostering mutual understanding and network reinforcement.

To foster the cooperative spirit in Azpeitia, various stakeholders, including local cooperatives, the Azpeitia City Council, and Mondragon Unibertsitatea, have collaborated to establish the new cooperative AzpeitiaKoop.

This initiative aims to consolidate the municipal cooperative network by promoting mutual understanding and collaboration. Cooperatives participating in AzpeitiaKoop span various sectors, including industry, primary sector, education, culture, energy, sports, and communication.
The formation of this new association is the culmination of a process that began several months ago, when the foundations were laid for an entity that would highlight Azpeitia's cooperative ecosystem. The project has taken shape through three assemblies held to date.
These meetings have fostered greater mutual understanding and strengthened the network, as well as establishing its structure. This work has resulted in the approval of the action plan for 2026. Both this plan and the cooperative itself will be officially presented in the coming days. At that time, there will be an opportunity to learn about its objectives, the defined work lines, and the methods for joining the entity as a member.
