From August 14 to 18, the town of Azkoitia will be alive with events, featuring a program designed for all ages. A total of approximately 60 activities are planned, including concerts, street parades, sports competitions, shows, and traditional events.
The first major day of the festivities, August 14, a Friday, will host numerous activities in the town's streets and squares. At 12:00 PM, the Sahatsa Dantza Taldea will launch the chupinazo (opening rocket), accompanied by the Municipal Band playing 'Ondo pasau Andramaixek'. Afterward, residents will sing 'Azkoitia', supported by the Municipal Band, the Parish Choir, and the Iraurgi Choir.
Following this, at 12:30 PM, a parade of giants and cabezudos from Azkoitia, Txantrea, and Buztintxuri will take place. In the afternoon, at 5:00 PM, a children's park with inflatables and castles will be set up in Balda square, while a youth park will be available on the upper field of Elkargune.
At 7:00 PM, the Deiadar txaranga will liven up the streets, and at 7:50 PM, the Txalkor Txistulari Taldea will escort the Town Council to the Parish church, playing 'Alkate Soinua'. In the evening, at 11:00 PM, the band Janus Lester will perform in the main square, and from 11:30 PM to 2:30 AM, Gune Morea and Testing services will be available at the church entrance, offering information and support regarding risks associated with sexual violence and drug consumption.
This year's program blends tradition with contemporary offerings, extending until the 18th and filling Azkoitia with a festive atmosphere.
Giant parades will also feature throughout the festivities, from August 14 to 17. Specifically, the parade on the 14th will start at 12:30 PM in Kale Nagusia; on the 15th, at 12:00 PM from Gurea pelota court; on the 16th, at 11:30 AM from San Martín; and on the 17th, at 12:00 PM from Balda square.
Additionally, small replicas of giants and pelota players will be available on August 14, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at the Portaleburu Exhibition Hall.
The fairground attractions will be located at Trenbidearen Zumardia until the 19th. On the final day, Children's Day will be celebrated with reduced prices at the attractions, and from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, there will be no music to accommodate individuals with noise sensitivity.
The City Council will distribute festival scarves and reusable cups bearing the slogan 'Ondo pasau, ondo pasau... pasatzeke!' on August 13 (6:00 PM-7:30 PM in Kontzejupen) and the 14 (10:30 AM-11:30 AM). The cups are an initiative of the Equality and Prevention departments, as part of a campaign to promote egalitarian festivities.
Lurraldebus will provide special services on August 14, 16, and 18, enabling residents and visitors to travel to the Andra Mari festivities sustainably, comfortably, and safely. Departures from Azkoitia (Xabier Munibe street) will be at 00:40, 01:30, 02:40, 03:30, 04:40, 05:30, and 06:40 (the latter only on the night of the 14th to the 15th). Routes will also include Azpeitia, Zestoa, and Zumaia. Furthermore, on the night of August 18 to 19, there will be another departure towards Errezil, and on August 15, the usual Saturday night services will be available.
