Azkoitia is celebrating its fifth Trikiti Eguna today, Saturday, filling the town's streets with the sounds of trikitixa and pandero.

Following yesterday's opening of an exhibition on Urola Kosta's pilgrimage sites and the presentation of the album Ordu txikitako saioak by trikitixa player Iñaki Garmendia Laja, Azkoitia is celebrating the fifth edition of Trikiti Eguna today. With cooler weather than previous days, many musicians have been lively playing the trikitixa and pandero since early morning. The event was organized by the Trikigiro association with the support of the Azkoitia City Council and the tavern association Um Blem Ble.
In the morning, around 11:30 AM, a group of trikitixa players gathered in the San Martin neighborhood, taking a photo with the mayor Ana Azkoitia in front of the local hermitage. Afterwards, divided into groups, they paraded through the town performing trikitixa pieces. Past 1:30 PM, the main street parade of the day began from Julio Urkixo avenue, spreading the melodies of the trikitixa and the rhythms of the pandero throughout the town, culminating in a group photo upon reaching the main square.
The festivities will not end with the parades; over a hundred people will gather for a communal meal in the square. Following lunch, there will be a romeria, with trikitixa players taking to the stage in the square from approximately 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
