The Tolosa Eskubaloia youth team has been eliminated from the Spanish Championship after failing to score points in the second phase held in Cangas, Pontevedra, though the experience gained was positive.

The youth players of Tolosa Eskubaloia can hold their heads high, despite their elimination in the second phase of the Spanish Championship. The team demonstrated a good level and potential, with participation in such a national competition being a significant achievement.
The team from Tolosa traveled to the Galician province of Pontevedra, where they faced a group with three strong teams from their respective leagues: the host Buenas Migas Luceros, Academia Alcobendas, and Abanca Ademar León. The competition was played in a single round-robin format, with only the top-ranked team advancing to the round of sixteen.
The first match, played on Friday, was against the eventual top qualifier, Buenas Migas Luceros, who dominated with a 31-17 victory. The visiting team struggled to keep up with the offensive pace of the Galicians, reaching halftime with a 16-10 score that already suggested a difficult outcome.
The following day, Saturday, the match against Abanca Ademar León was more evenly contested, though the Leonese team ultimately won 33-25. Enaitz Gurrutxaga was once again Tolosa's standout player, scoring ten goals. However, exclusions and Mikel Badiola's injury affected the team's performance. In the final match against Academia Alcobendas, Tolosa initially took the lead, but the Madrid team capitalized on their opportunities to win 23-32.
Despite their elimination from the Spanish Championship, the youth team's season continues in the Gipuzkoa Cup, where they will visit Urola de Zumarraga next weekend.
Meanwhile, the Tolosa Eskubaloia men's senior B team still has chances to be promoted to the Basque League. Last Saturday, they lost 33-29 against Done Pedro Hondarribia Bidasoa. This Sunday, at 12:15 PM in Usabal, they will face undefeated league leader Barakaldo in a crucial match to secure their spot in the promotion play-offs.
