Gipuzkoa Mills Day will be celebrated on Sunday, May 17, with the aim of better understanding the mills of the territory and appreciating their historical and cultural value.
This is the fifth edition of the event, promoted by the Yurrita Errota association and supported by various institutions, associations, municipalities, and stakeholders in Gipuzkoa. The initiative aims for citizens to understand the different aspects related to this heritage element, such as its history, culture, environment, technology, use of different energies, and the changes that our society and landscapes have undergone.
Although the main day is May 17, activities will take place from May 9 to 24, totaling 25 events. These will include guided tours, workshops for children and families, walks, exhibitions, conferences, and open days.
In Tolosaldea, there will be an opportunity to visit two mills on Sunday: Errotaberri in the Aldaba neighborhood of Tolosa and Txuringadi in Larraul. The visits will start at 11:00 AM and require prior registration via email at kultura@tolosa.eus and kultura@larraul.eus.
Furthermore, the General Archive of Gipuzkoa, located in Tolosa, has joined the celebration and organized a guided tour for Friday, May 15.
