The finals of the Gipuzkoa Small Towns Cup took place on Saturday in Ikaztegieta, bringing the current season to a close. This year, unfortunately, only men's finals were contested, as no women's teams registered. Nevertheless, a significant crowd attended the event.
Following their league victory, Bidania-Goiatz claimed the First Division Cup by defeating Uzturre from Leaburu-Txarama with a score of 3-2. The match was closely contested, with Bidania-Goiatz dominating the first half to lead 3-0 at halftime. In the second half, the Leaburu team attempted a comeback but ran out of time, and the trophy went to Bidania-Goiatz.
In the playoff for third and fourth place, the local team Kutturru of Ikaztegieta beat Elgeta 10-6. The home team led 3-1 at halftime, but injuries left them unable to make further substitutions. Despite Elgeta's efforts to close the gap, Ikaztegieta capitalized on defensive openings to secure third place.
The Second Division final was won by Ijitok of Itsasondo, with a narrow 6-5 victory over Kutturru B of Ikaztegieta. The game was thrilling, with Itsasondo taking early leads of 1-0 and 2-1, before Kutturru B took control to lead 3-5. However, defensive errors and fouls allowed Itsasondo to equalize at 5-5, and in the final seconds, a double penalty secured the win for Ijitok.
In the final standings, Bidania-Goiatz topped the League table, followed by Uzturre, Kutturru A, and Ijitok. Bidania-Goiatz was the champion of the A Cup, while Ijitok won the B Cup. Jokin Agirretxe (Bidania-Goiatz) was the top scorer in the League.
